Job Description Summary Role Summary: The Head of Communications is responsible for the Communications and PR strategy of Avio Aero, executing all Communications activities that align with business goals and objectives. Their scope of responsibility will cover brand, marketing communications, media & PR, crisis comms, public affairs, institutional relations, and internal communications. He/she will act as a key advisor to the CEO and Senior Leadership Team. Job Description Essential Responsibilities: This position, reporting to the CEO, directs and leads the communications function: its strategy, processes, priorities, tools, resources, and budgets. Develop and implement positioning and messaging for the business.
Develop creative vehicles to ensure both internal and external stakeholders understand Avio Aero’s purpose, vision, and strategy. Serve as a subject matter expert to functional leaders and product-focused business units. Lead and develop the communications team ((8 people) to ensure they’re executing on the communications strategy, goals, objectives and priorities; coach and mentor the team to achieve their own personal development goals. Oversee and manage all marketing communications activities including brand, advertising, creative content, web, social, events, conferences, and sponsorships. Lead internal communications to ensure all employees are connected to the vision and strategy of the business, and regularly updated on business performance, our products, our technologies, and our people achievements. Help create an environment and culture that celebrates inclusion & diversity, compliance, safety, transparency, and honesty. Manage relationships with key media and press representatives. Pitches effectively to media, to achieve earned media reach and a competitive share of voice. Manage community relations, external partnerships, and association participation (Valore D, Parks, IAI). Manage the communication function processes and procedures to ensure all are followed, and all deliverables are on time, on spec and on budget. Support business goals by developing institutional and government relations - creating and executing on stakeholder engagement plans, promotional campaigns, and thought-leadership opportunities. Own and manage the crisis communications plan. Ensure all business stakeholders are trained to follow the plan in the event of a crisis. Serve as the business' spokesperson on broad policy and represent the business in all public relations. Support GE HQ with investor and media relations. Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers and industry partners. Identify and maximize speaking opportunities for company executives to help promote our brand and tell our story. Identify all annual budget requirements for the function to operate effectively. Execute on agreed financial operating plans. Continually evaluate processes, standard work and functional tools, to see how they can improve the work of the function. Minimum Requirements Master’s degree in Communications, Media/PR, Journalism, HR, Marketing, or related field. Fluent and/or excellent verbal/written skills in both English and Italian. Significant experience leading the Communications/PR function. Proven experience in multinational corporation and/or international comms agency. EU work permit.
