Role Summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality English Language and/or English Literature lessons to high school students in English, in line with the Cambridge IGCSE and Cambridge International A Level curricula.
Candidates must be English Mother Tongue or fully bilingual, with the ability to teach confidently and accurately through English at an academic level. This role is ideal for an experienced and enthusiastic educator who is passionate about literature, language, and supporting students in achieving strong examination outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging and rigorous English lessons in accordance with the Cambridge IGCSE and Cambridge International A Level syllabuses.
- Develop students’ skills in reading, writing, speaking, and critical analysis, with a strong focus on academic language and examination preparation.
- Prepare students effectively for internal assessments and external Cambridge examinations.
- Use a range of teaching strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners, including bilingual and international students.
- Assess, monitor, and report on student progress using formative and summative assessment practices aligned with Cambridge standards.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure curriculum coherence, progression, and consistency across year groups.
- Contribute to curriculum development, departmental planning, and the wider academic life of the school.
- Participate actively in school life, including meetings, professional development, events, and communication with parents.
