**We are seeking to fill two positions of Assistant Storekeeper G3, based in the WFP UNHRD Brindisi hub.

Our network of five strategically located humanitarian support hubs provide free storage and easy access to essential supplies along with technical support, enabling the international humanitarian community to respond quickly and effectively to people in need.These positions will be based in Brindisi, Italy and will report to the UNHRD Brindisi Warehouse Manager.
**THE ROLE**Under the supervision and guidance of the Logistics Associate (Warehouse Manager), the Assistant Storekeepers will support receipt/dispatch and verification of Non-Food Items (NFI) in order to maximize quality of warehouse operations and mitigate losses,



and to support the best storage management practices in compliance with WFP warehouse standards and established guidelines.
The selected incumbents will be expected to demonstrate good attention to details, teamwork and proactivity skills with the ability to communicate effectively and work well with a wide range of individuals.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES** (not all-inclusive, nor exhaustive):* Support receipt/dispatch commodities including transshipment (truck to truck) against official approved documentation (e.g. waybills and/or delivery notes) ensuring accuracy in physical count of commodities including the quality in compliance with the established standards.
* Prepare and verify warehouse and transport documents,



and maintain confidential files and accurate warehouse transaction records, to ensure immediate reporting on commodity movements in line with the corporate requirements.
* Support daily warehouse closing reconciliation and accurate inventory checks in compliance with the warehouse management requirements.
* Perform daily inspections and prepare reports on the quantity and quality of the commodities received/dispatched and handled and refer to the supervisor for appropriate action.
* Support implementation of appropriate measures to safeguard non-food commodities to ensure quality control using standard preventive measures in line with WFP established procedures and authorization received from the supervisor.




* Monitor condition of the warehouse and commodities and take appropriate actions to support efficient warehouse space-utilization and well-organized commodity storage following WFP warehouse standards.
**OTHER POST REQUIREMENTS****Essentials:*** Some experience monitoring or supporting various aspects of logistics operations.
* Some experience in supporting warehouse management and inventory management.
* Some knowledge of logistics and shipping services and/or operations.
* Driver's license B.
* Some experience operating forklifts with valid certification.
* Demonstrated experience collaborating with other departments such as logistics, customer service, etc.
## **Desirables:*** Some experience in the humanitarian response.
* Some knowledge of ERP systems and Excel.




* Driver's license C & D/certification to operate commercial or light vehicles and experience driving safely and responsibly complying with the applicable driving laws.
**QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:****Education:** Completion of secondary school education.
A post-secondary certificate in the related functional area is desirable.
**Experience:** Three or more years of experience in warehouse operations or relative business stream.
**Language:** Working knowledge (proficiency/FAQ level B) of English.

If not residing within commuting distance at the time of application, candidates must be willing to relocate to Brindisi, Italy, at their own cost before taking up the assignment.
