In this role you lead well engineering for a project, supervising junior engineers and ensuring technical integrity across well programs. You will review and approve proposals, bases of design, and well operations procedures, while coordinating with clients, suppliers, and service companies. You drive continuous improvement, cost control, and performance focus (ft/day, reduced non‑productive time) across rigs. You’ll mentor teams, adopt new technology, and uphold IDS standards and QUEST processes, making a measurable impact on project outcomes.

Review and approve Well Proposals, Basis of Design, Well Programs, and End‑of‑Well reports
Approve well operations procedures (e.g., casing running and cementing) and well control briefing
Participate in selection/evaluation of service companies, suppliers, and equipment
Ensure communication with clients, segments, and third parties; monitor daily performance and costs
Lead cost control against AFE, forecast medium/long‑term needs, and revise plans as required




Ensure technical integrity of Well Operations programs and participate in well performance reviews
Lead SQ investigations and Management of Change to well programs; monitor NPT trends across rigs
Participate in or deputize for Project Manager; participate in Daily Morning Meetings
Verify invoices for service companies; participate in HARC's and IDS Standards compliance; review QUEST exemptions and SQ RIRs
Lead engineering studies (wellbore stability, lost circulation, washouts); initiate corrective actions for continuous improvement
Share best practices via InTouch; transfer lessons learned across rigs; support Drilling TIC projects
Responsabilità

15+ years of experience in well engineering and operations (implied)
strong leadership and mentoring abilities
ability to approve and govern well designs, programs, and procedures
experience with cost control, budgeting, and project planning
familiarity with well control processes and MOC, SQ investigations, and QUEST/IDS standards
ability to coordinate with clients, third parties, and service companies
data‑driven approach to performance monitoring (NPT, Time/Depth, cost/depth)
experience with technology evaluation and implementation
