Role Description The Night Auditor at San Clemente Palace Venice is a full-time, on-site role based in Venice, responsible for ensuring smooth overnight operations and accurate end-of-day reporting. This role includes welcoming and checking in late-arriving guests, managing check-outs and early departures, and handling guest inquiries and requests throughout the night. The Night Auditor completes daily financial reconciliations, verifies room charges and payments, prepares summary reports, and resolves basic discrepancies in coordination with the finance team. Responsibilities also include monitoring reservations and room allocations, managing the switchboard, and maintaining accurate guest records in the property management system. The role supports security and safety procedures during night hours, ensures lobby and front desk areas are orderly and presentable, and collaborates closely with day-shift teams for seamless handovers.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in front desk and receptionist duties, including check-in/check-out, switchboard operation, and guest record management.




- Experience handling reservations, room assignments, and updates in a property management or hotel booking system.
- Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to respond professionally and promptly to guest needs and concerns.
- Accurate cash handling capabilities, including balancing cash drawers, processing payments, and reconciling end-of-day transactions.
- Prior night audit or front office experience in a hotel or luxury hospitality environment preferred.
- Comfort with basic accounting principles and report preparation, including nightly financial reconciliation.
- Fluency in English and Italian; additional languages (such as Italian and other European languages) are an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail, reliability during overnight shifts, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Working knowledge of hotel PMS, Opera, POS, and stand
