Director of Groups

In this role you drive MICE (groups, meetings, incentives, conferences, and events) business for the hotel, shaping luxury experiences for high-profile clients. You lead strategy, nurture relationships with planners and agencies, and collaborate with sales, marketing, and operations to ensure flawless event execution. You will manage revenue growth and position the property as a premier destination for luxury groups. You work cross-functionally to deliver exceptional service and memorable experiences, while traveling to key industry and partner locations.

- Develop and implement MICE sales strategies to attract corporate groups, conferences, and events
- Nurture relationships with key decision-makers in MICE and attend industry events to generate new business
- Coordinate with sales, marketing, and operations to ensure seamless event delivery and luxury standards
- Serve as main client contact for MICE accounts, overseeing planning, execution, and client satisfaction
- Collaborate with off-property sales channels to align property needs and maximize revenue opportunities
- Set revenue targets, monitor budgets, and develop pricing strategies for MICE and group bookings
- Forecast demand, analyze bookings, and report performance to senior management




- Maintain CRM records and ensure accurate documentation of sales activities
- Lead and develop MICE sales team, fostering collaboration with internal departments
- Support Marriott Customer Service Standards and hotel Brand Standards
- Assist in annual budget planning and market analysis to drive profitability
- Build long-term client relationships and expand the hotel’s market presence in luxury segments
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel Management, or related field
- 4+ years in a senior sales leadership role in MICE or luxury hospitality
- Strong client base in North America and Europe
- Proven track record in MICE sales, business development, and client relationship management
- Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills with mentoring capability
- Multilingual abilities (Italian and English; Spanish a plus)
- Advanced computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Opera or similar PMS
- Ability to travel frequently and manage high-pressure, service-oriented environment
