R&D Electrical Engineer Short Circuit- Power Transformers

As R&D; Engineer, you will join the Technology Center South Europe, part of the global Technology organization of Business Unit Transformer. As member of our R&D; team located in Monselice (Italy), you will contribute to the execution of projects related to short circuit withstand of power transformers supporting as domain expert the design platforms.

How you’ll make an impact
- Propose and develop new technologies, products, and processes for core type transformers.
- Lead and manage R&D; projects self-driven on time, on budget, and with the required quality following Hitachi Energy internal standards and processes.
- Maintain existing and develop new technical standards and design tools for transformers.
- Transfer your knowledge and findings by elaborating reports, specifications and/or participating in educational programs.
- Assess production processes and proactively identify gaps and areas of improvement.
- Support factories troubleshooting in your domain of expertise.
- Support platform developers creating technical specifications in your domain of expertise.
- Develop,



manage and expand relationships with stakeholders, internal functions, Corporate Research Centers and external relevant parties (e.g. customers, universities). Providing proposals for possible partnerships.

Your background
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years’ experience in Power Transformer industry.
- Good experience in power transformer’s design, testing, and manufacturing.
- Solid knowledge of Short Circuit physics in power transformers.
- Good knowledge and use of finite element electromagnetic analysis programs.
- Good design experience of dedicated calculation and verification software/applications, into engineering design tools.
- Knowledge of one or more programming languages (C#, C++, Python, ...) will be considered as a plus.
- Knowledge of the fundamental mechanical calculation and verification of structures (bending, torsion etc.) and
