What You'll Do

As a Lead IT Architect, you will work closely with clients to understand their issues, define IT strategies, architecture solutions, win buy-in for your recommendations, and collaborate with fellow BCGers to transform client potential into performance. You will be given end-to-end responsibility for larger, highly technical and more complex “modules” within a project, and begin to develop specialized knowledge to help you solve clients’ problems. You will start to take on team lead responsibilities and demonstrate intellectual leadership.

Main responsibilities will include:

Building community

- Advisinginternalcolleagueson core technical concepts and frameworks
- Advisingfellowarchitectsonareasrelevantto an areayouhavedepthin
- Developing a network in the BCG technical community and leveraging it for our clients

Developing&Designing;

- AnalysingcomplexITapplicationlandscapes
- Analysingthe status quo andoptimizationof ITarchitectures
- Identifyingnon-trivialtechnologydecisionsfacinga client
- Storytellingaboutarchitecturalbuildingblocksandtheirimportance
- Roadmappingand business casedevelopment

Controlling&Managing;

- Reviewingvendorproposalsand/or in-flighttechnical work
- IT project management andqualityassurance
- Optimizingapplicationdevelopmentprocesses

What You'll Bring

- You have from10to15years’experiencein softwaredevelopment, technical project management,digitaldeliveryortechnologyconsulting
- You show abilitytobringuniquetechperspectivesfromoutsidethe consultingindustryintoBCG'stypicalengagements,requiring:

- Consultingexperiencerequired

- Strategicmindset(hypothesisdriven, 80:20mindset, iterativeapproach,activiststance)

- Self-managed

- You have leadershippotentialtotransformthe consultingindustryinparticulararoundinteraction with designers,engineersandPOs




- Progressing thought leadership in deep tech
- New (but proven) methodologies or ways of working

- You are ableto balancedogmatismandpragmatismto guidedecisionmaking.Articulatetrade-offsand drive high-impacttechnologydecisionsontopicsincluding(butnotlimited to) IaaS/PaaS providers, containerorchestration, service mesh, API gateways, and commercial vs.opensourcesoftware.

- You haveexperiencewith, andunderstandhowto lead, legacyintegrationandremediation(facades,stranglerapproaches, et.al.)

- You havea deepunderstandingofdifferentintegrationpatterns and best practicessuchasevents,synchronousvs.asynchronous

- You haveanuniversity degree withabove-averageacademicperformancein amathematical-scientificfield, informationtechnology, or businessadministration

- Youarefluentin English andItalian

Compensation Information

Total compensation for this role includes base salary, annual discretionary performance bonus, and a market-leading benefits package described below.

The base salary range for this role is EUR 84.000,00 - EUR 90.000,00.

This is an estimated range. Any final offer would be based on objective, role-related criteria such as your relevant experience, qualifications, and demonstrated skills. Employees may also be eligible for an annual discretionary performance bonus.
