Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced SAP EWM Consultant with Yard Logistics expertise to support a major SAP logistics transformation project in Italy. The consultant will be responsible for analysing business requirements, designing SAP EWM and Yard Logistics solutions, supporting implementation activities, and working closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, and integration partners.

This is a freelance opportunity suitable for a consultant with strong SAP Extended Warehouse Management experience and hands-on knowledge of yard processes, transport integration, and warehouse execution.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and support the design, configuration, and implementation of SAP EWM solutions.
- Work on SAP Yard Logistics / Yard Management processes, including check-in, check-out, gate activities, yard movements, dock appointment scheduling, and vehicle tracking.
- Gather and analyse business requirements from logistics, warehouse, and transport stakeholders.
- Translate business needs into SAP functional specifications and system configuration.
- Support integration between SAP EWM, SAP TM, SAP S/4HANA, MM, SD, and third-party logistics systems.
- Configure warehouse processes including inbound, outbound, internal movements, staging, picking, packing, putaway, replenishment, and loading.
- Support testing phases, including unit testing, integration testing, UAT, and defect resolution.
- Prepare functional documentation, process flows,



configuration documents, and training materials.
- Provide go-live and post-go-live support.
- Collaborate with business users, project managers, developers, and external vendors.

Required Skills and Experience

- Strong hands-on experience as an SAP EWM Consultant.
- Proven experience with SAP Yard Logistics, Yard Management, or yard execution processes.
- Good understanding of warehouse operations, transport flows, gate management, loading docks, and shipment execution.
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA logistics environments.
- Ability to configure SAP EWM processes end to end.
- Experience with integration points between SAP EWM and other SAP modules such as MM, SD, TM, and PP.
- Strong functional specification and documentation skills.
- Experience supporting testing, cutover, go-live, and hypercare activities.
- Ability to work independently in a freelance consulting capacity.
- Strong communication skills in English; Italian language skills are highly desirable.
- Availability to work hybrid from Milan or Turin.

Nice to Have

- Previous experience in manufacturing, automotive, retail, FMCG, logistics, or 3PL environments.
- SAP EWM certification.
- Experience with RF framework, mobile devices, barcode scanning, and warehouse automation.
- Experience with SAP Transportation Management.
- Knowledge of ABAP debugging or ability to work closely with technical consultants.
- Experience on international SAP rollout projects.
