We are seeking a Senior Lead Developer / Integration Architect to join our nearshore delivery team, leading integration development and architecture activities for a leading German banking client. In this role, you will guide nearshore teams in the design, development, testing, and delivery of enterprise integration solutions within Java environments, working with Apache Camel, OpenAPI, WSDL, middleware technologies, container platforms, and CI/CD pipelines. You will collaborate closely with distributed teams during German business hours, ensuring high-quality, scalable, and maintainable banking-grade integration architectures.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead the development of Java/JVM-based integration services and enterprise integration solutions
- Define and support solution and IT architectures for the existing banking platform
- Design and implement APIs, REST services, OpenAPI specifications, and WSDL definitions
- Develop integration routes and services using Apache Camel
- Work with middleware and messaging technologies such as IBM WebSphere MQ
- Support Enterprise Application Integration across existing systems and platforms
- Lead technical design, architecture decisions, and technical specifications
- Guide nearshore development teams and ensure high-quality delivery
- Contribute to CI/CD and automation processes using GitLab, Jenkins,
or similar tools
- Support build and deployment automation activities
- Work with Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration technologies
- Support cloud and AKS/Azure-based environments where applicable
- Ensure software quality through JUnit, unit testing, and test automation
- Support logging, monitoring, performance analysis, and optimization activities
- Contribute to migration planning, technical governance, and integration best practices
- Document architecture decisions, technical designs, API definitions, and integration flows
What You'll Bring Along
- A University degree or advanced diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in integration development
- At least 3 years of experience in a Tech Lead or Architect role
- Strong application development experience with Java, JDK, and JVM environments
- Deep knowledge of Apache Camel and Integration & Middleware concepts
- Strong understanding of Enterprise Application Integration
- Experience with REST, OpenAPI, WSDL, and API design
- Experience with Docker xlwpduy and Kubernetes
- Experience with CI/CD, build/deployment automation, GitLab, and Jenkins
- Experience with JUnit and software unit testing
- Experience leading nearshore or distributed development teams
- Knowledge of IBM WebSphere MQ is a plus
- Understanding of Service-Oriented Architecture is preferred
- Experience with Spring Boot or Quarkus
- Familiarity with ELK Stack and test automation is preferred
- Experience with solution architecture and technical design is preferred
- Experience with Domain Driven Design is preferred
- Previous experience in banking or financial services is a plus
- Familiarity with Azure, AKS, Prometheus, or Grafana is nice to have
- Experience with IBM App Connect, IBM Integration Bus, or IBM Business Process Manager is nice to have
- Experience with performance analysis, optimization, or migration planning is nice to have
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- German language skills are a plus
