Software Application Engineer 16129 Roma, Italy 10100 Roma, Italy Contract Type: Permanent Division: Digital Technology and Cybersecurity RINA is currently recruiting for a Software Application Engineer to join its office in Genoa, Turin, Rome (Italy) within the Digital Technology and Cybersecurity Division.
The Software Application
Engineer focuses on designing, developing, testing, and deploying software applications that align with our business needs. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams, including product managers, UX/UI designers, and software developers, to deliver high‑quality solutions to our customers. The ideal candidate has a strong background in software development and a passion for building scalable, maintainable, and efficient applications.
Software Development: Design and develop robust, scalable, and secure software applications. Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code adhering to software development best practices. Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements and implementation plans.
Testing and Deployment: Write automated tests to ensure the quality of applications and enhance test coverage. Debug the implemented application software. Support the V&V; team during testing and validation activities for defect analysis.
Document software requirements, design decisions, APIs,
and implementation details. Maintain technical documentation and diagrams related to the software applications. Technical support to customers and internal teams as needed.
Identify and propose improvements to existing software applications and development processes. Actively participate in agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, and retrospectives. Work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality software applications.
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems Good experience as a Software Engineer or Software Application Engineer, with a track record of delivering high‑quality software applications. Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as C/C++ or C#.
Experience with desktop application development frameworks (e.g., MS Visual Studio, VS Code, Eclipse). Familiarity with database technologies (SQL databases). Understanding of software engineering life cycle and development best practices, including Agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and version control systems (e.g., Qt, NI LabWindows/LabVIEW) is a plus.
