About the Role
We are seeking a Project HSE Engineer to join our clients Engineering and Project Management segments. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of HSE regulations and applications.
Main Objectives
- Support the PHSEM in the Project HSE Management System development throughout all project phases (engineering, procurement, fabrication, transportation and installation).
- Ensure compliance with all applicable health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and standards.
- Ensure compliance with local legislation in terms of HSE, lifting and rigging.
- Define the criteria and references for the development of project HSE plans and HSE Bridging Documents.
- Conduct regular HSE audits and inspections to identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices in the workplace.
- Assist the Project HSE Manager in the risk management process (i.e., HAZID, Hazard and Effect Management Process, Project Risk Assessment, etc.).
- Ensure incident reporting and investigation are properly conducted,
and also directly participate when required by the PHSEM.
- Conduct HSE audits at projects work sites and subcontractor premises.
- Support the HSE performance monitoring, analysis and reporting toward project and company organizations.
- Stay up-to-date on HSE best practices.
- Provide HSE advice and guidance to employees.
- Support the development of emergency preparedness and response plans.
- Promote a positive HSE culture within the organization.
Requirements
- Engineering or science degree.
- At least 2 years of experience in a HSE role in a complex industrial business that includes project planning and execution activities, as well as experience working with a variety of stakeholders.
- 2+ years of work experience with EHS audits.
- 2+ years of work experience with EHS engineering.
- Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written (training/presentations/report writing).
- Knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and dlg.81/2008.
- Strong PC skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).
- BOSIET (desirable).
- H2S (desirable).
- NEBOSH or equivalent (desirable).
