Experteer Overview

As a Mechanical Engineer on a major hyperscale data centre project in Milan, you will lead on‑site delivery of complex mechanical systems, focusing on HVAC, chilled water, and critical plant installation. You will coordinate contractors, manage documentation, and ensure works meet safety, quality, and programme targets. You’ll provide design management oversight to site teams and contribute to risk assessments, method statements, and installation sequencing. This role offers hands‑on site work within a fast‑paced environment and a clear line of sight to impactful data‑centre delivery. Join a collaborative delivery team working across Europe on mission‑critical campuses and long‑term projects.

Responsibilities

- Manage client communications related to mechanical services
- Coordinate contractors and ensure mechanical systems integrate with M&E; works
- Review and manage technical drawings, specifications, and mechanical documentation
- Provide design management oversight and guidance to site teams
- Prepare method statements and risk assessments for construction activities
- Oversee installation sequencing for pipework, ductwork, and plant to meet scheduled dates




- Validate project scope, technical procurement, and specialist sub‑contractor engagement
- Support installation quality and programme delivery from site works to commissioning
- Document and cost changes to work scopes, including monthly valuations and final account preparation
- Maintain compliance with IMS, health & safety, and quality standards on site

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in mechanical engineering within M&E; contracting environments
- Experience on data centre, pharmaceutical, industrial, or large commercial projects highly advantageous
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, chilled water, pumps, and critical plant installation
- Proven ability to coordinate subcontractors and manage mechanical works on site
- Strong organisational, communication, and time management skills
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
- Process‑driven with a focus on quality, compliance, and safety
