Master Thesis Opportunity: PDN Extraction and Modeling for VRM Applications. This thesis focuses on developing a complete workflow for Power Delivery Network (PDN) extraction and modeling in Voltage Regulator Module (VRM) applications. The goal is to connect PCB layout‑based electromagnetic extraction with system‑level simulation to improve power integrity analysis and reduce design iterations.
The student will work with tools such as SIMPLIS, ANSYS Q3D, Cadence Sigrity, and MATLAB/Python to extract PDN models from PCB layouts, convert them into simulation‑ready formats, integrate them with VRM models, and validate the results against lab measurements.
Expected outcomes include a validated modeling methodology, integrated simulation models, and practical design guidelines for improved PDN/VRM co‑design.
