As Planted Journal continues to grow, we're looking for passionate volunteers who want to help bridge the gap between humans and nature through thoughtful storytelling, creativity, and community. We're a small international team building something meaningful together.
As a volunteer, you'll gain firsthand experience working with a diverse international team, learn about the day-to-day operations of a non-profit association, and develop a deeper understanding of how a mission-driven organisation works.
In addition to weekly responsibilities, our team comes together for a monthly team call to connect, collaborate, and share updates.
Overview
As a Graphic Designer, you’ll help bring Planted Journal's stories and mission to life through engaging visual content. You’ll work closely with our editorial team to design layouts, promotional materials, and visual content that align with our brand identity. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both graphic design and video editing and wants to use their creativity to support a meaningful cause.
What you'll do
- Design graphics for social media, newsletters, and digital campaigns.
- Create layouts for articles, reports, presentations, and other publications.
- Edit short-form videos and simple motion graphics for social media and promotional content.
- Ensure visual consistency across all Planted Journal materials.
- Collaborate with the editorial and communications teams to translate ideas into compelling visuals.
We're looking for someone who:
- Has experience with graphic design and video editing tools (such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, CapCut, or similar).
- Has a good eye for layout, typography, and visual storytelling.
- Can balance creativity with attention to detail.
- Is organised, reliable, and able to meet agreed-upon deadlines.
- Is passionate about nature, sustainability, and our mission.
