ERASMUS+ INTERNSHIP in COMPUTATIONAL SCIENCES - Computational techniques for electrostatic characterization of biomolecular systems

Full-time internship within the Erasmus+ Traineeship programme for undergraduate students enrolled in a master’s degree programme; the position requires a time commitment of 40 hours/week (full-time).
Location: Center for Human Technologies, Genoa, Italy
Duration: Flexible, 3 or 6 months (3 months only for non-EU citizen)
Start date: 15/09/2026 (flexible)
Compensation: No salary granted by IIT (applicants must rely on funding from their University’s Erasmus+ programme)

THE ROLE
During your internship you will work on a project in the Computational Modelling of NanoScale and bioPhysical Systems group (https://concept.iit.it/) group, coordinated by Walter Rocchia. This group focuses on Computational Biophysics.
Your activity will comprise
- Biophysical modeling
- Software development
and will allow you to develop competences in
- Computational Electrostatics for Biology
- Numerical analysis and implementations
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- To be registered as a student in an undergraduate master’s degree programme in Mathematics, Computer science or a cognate fieldofstudy for the entire duration of your stay at IIT
- To have a good command of spoken and written English
- To rely on funding from your University’s Erasmus+ programme
