FLORENCE, AZ 85132 HTTPS://CORRECTIONS.AZ.GOV/ [https://corrections.az.gov/] Posting Details: SALARY: $60,000.00 GRADE: 20 CLOSING DATE: 08/04/2026 Job Summary: The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is looking to hire an Equipment Shop Supervisor to manage the day-to-day field operation of vehicle and equipment repairs assigned to the work team. This position interfaces and interacts with Management staff to determine and furnish the appropriate support for vehicle and equipment requirements at the Arizona

State Prison Complex - Eyman.

Job Duties

Responsible for the training and ensuring that all staff and inmates are proficient in the use of Ron Turley Associates (RTA) and completed work orders are closed in a timely manner Supervises and controls the operations of the vehicle and equipment repairs Attends weekly complex executive staff meetings Submits the monthly Preventive Maintenance (PM) due reports (Fleet Matrix), as well as the PM progress reports and weekly Out of Service (matrix), reports to all executive staff Conducts daily progress meeting with staff and inmates to ensure all are aware of the needs in regards to existing vehicle repair status and vehicles waiting to be, repaired or PM Provides training to all inmates and new staff on all shop equipment and safety procedures Determines all repair parts, supplies, accessories needed are prepared and purchased through the procurement system. A follow-up should be done on a 24-hour basis until the parts, supplies, or accessories are received Conducts monthly Green Fleet inspections looking for any safety hazards Corrects all findings as soon as discovered and submit competed for a report to Regional Equipment Manager Ensures all staff and inmates have proper protective equipment Confirms that all tools, keys, buildings, and structures, under your control, are secured and accounted for before leaving for the day Drives on State business. Will require overnight or multiple overnight stays to complete repairs on equipment/vehicles/heavy-duty vehicles.





Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs): Knowledge of:

Power/drive train system inspections, diagnosis and repair procedures; electrical, electronic controls, and hydraulic systems inspections, diagnosis and repair procedures Computerized diagnostic analyzer use procedures Automotive/heavy construction equipment operating procedures Parts procurement/inventory control procedures Automotive shop safety principles and practices; equipment management principles, including scheduled preventive maintenance and record-keeping Supervision/training principles and practices Vast knowledge of the State and Federal Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) laws and regulations Arizona Title 28 laws and regulations pertaining to "on the road" vehicles and equipment Employee and shop safety, Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA), Federal and State environmental laws, and regulations Specialized tools and equipment related to maintenance repair and full-service maintenance facilities that are necessary to perform all levels of equipment refurbishment, modifications, overhaul, rebuilds, and preventive maintenance Skill in:

Mechanical diagnostics and repair Utilizing precision measuring tools and other mechanical tools Supervising and management Personal computers and various software including Microsoft Suite and Google Suite Fleet Management Software System Teaching, mentoring, and training staff and inmates in the use of Paperless Shop, Paperless Inspections, adding repair lines to Work Order, posting parts and labor to Work Orders and Inventory Controls within the program Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships Ability to:

To use complex electronic analysis testers, interpret the failure, and complete proper repairs Read, comprehend, and apply manuals, charts, and schematics Organize and supervise an automotive/heavy equipment service and repair shop Schedule and coordinate repair orders to maximize utilization Develop day to day operating policies and procedures Perform equipment management-oriented record keeping and report preparation Work in a prison environment Selective Preference(s):

Five (5) years of experience as a Maintenance Manager or Maintenance Supervisor for a large fleet of vehicles or multiple site locations requiring knowledge and application of OSHA Hazard (HAZ) Communication (COM)



OSHA Lock Out Tag Out OSHA Fire Protection regulations, as well as a Fleet Management Software System Pre-Employment Requirements:

Valid Arizona Drivers License Class B CDL License with a "P" passenger endorsement within the first six months of hire Ability to obtain a DOT Brake Inspector and Commercial Vehicle Inspector Certification with in one year of the hire date.
