About SkillMatch Hub

SkillMatch Hub is a skills-based selection platform. We are building a pool of Junior, Intermediate, and Senior professionals to support the internal needs of SkillMatch Hub, the ILS ecosystem, and future selection processes on behalf of Italian client companies.

Applications are assessed based on real skills and professional evidence. The possible presentation of profiles to specific external employers is not yet underway and will take place through SkillMatch Hub when suitable opportunities become available. Inclusion in the talent pool does not automatically guarantee a specific opportunity.

The selection is open to applicants of all genders.

About the Role

Transform complex questions into evidence that can guide meaningful action.

As a Data Scientist, you will explore complex datasets, formulate hypotheses, and select rigorous analytical methods to develop, validate, and compare machine learning and predictive models.

You will work on feature engineering, evaluation metrics, model interpretability, and documentation to ensure that results are understandable and reproducible. You will also translate technical findings into clear recommendations for both technical and business stakeholders.

Working closely with data engineering and machine learning engineering teams, you will help connect experimentation with robust and reproducible solutions. This role is ideal for someone who combines scientific discipline, curiosity, and the confidence to challenge assumptions with data.

Responsibilities

- Explore complex datasets, formulate hypotheses, and define analysis methodologies.
- Develop, validate, and compare machine learning and predictive analysis models.
- Perform feature engineering and define appropriate evaluation metrics.
- Assess model interpretability and document analytical work.




- Present findings and recommendations to technical and business stakeholders.
- Collaborate with data engineering and machine learning engineering teams on reproducible solutions.

What We’re Looking For

We welcome applications from professionals at Junior, Intermediate, and Senior levels.

Junior candidates may bring a thesis, personal projects, academic work, or early professional experience. Intermediate candidates should be able to manage experiments, feature engineering, and validation with greater independence. Senior candidates should be able to define analytical approaches, metrics, and trade-offs while leading complex and ambiguous problems.

A background in data science, statistics, mathematics, computer science, physics, engineering, or equivalent demonstrable experience is considered relevant.





Professional evidence may include
