AI Software Research Engineer - Agent Systems – Toscana, Italy

This leading technology developer urgently seeks an AI Software Research Engineer – Agent Systems to be based at their R+D Centre in Pisa. The role involves the research and development of next‑generation AI and ML systems used in the automotive industry worldwide, focusing on agent workflows, orchestration, optimisation, and communications. The engineer will develop AI workflows combining AI agents, large language models, and external tools to improve embedded engineering productivity and quality.

Applicants should hold a PhD and have several years of experience with strong foundations in software engineering principles and machine learning techniques.



Proficiency in C++ and Python aimed at ML and LLMs is required, along with familiarity with AI agent frameworks, orchestration, optimisation, or workflows, and exposure to retrieval‑augmented generation technology. Research publications in AI for software engineering or intelligent systems would be beneficial.
