Responsibilities
Design & Engineering
Review and consent to the developed telecom system architecture for facilities including:
Voice and data communication (IP PBX, LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi)
Public Address and General Alarm (PAGA) systems
CCTV and security systems
VHF/UHF radio systems and marine communication
VSAT and fiber‐optic backbone infrastructure
Telephone exchanges, intercom, and telecom cabling infrastructure
Review and consent to the prepared technical specifications, datasheets, drawings, and network topologies.
Coordinate telecom system requirements with control systems (DCS, ESD, SCADA) and safety systems (F&G;, HVAC).
Standards & Compliance
Ensure designs meet industry standards (IEC, ITU,
NFPA, ISO, API, NORSOK, and client‐specific specifications).
Ensure that designed telecom systems are suitable for hazardous areas (ATEX/IECEx zones) and that equipment is certified.
Ensure cybersecurity measures are considered in all communication networks.
Procurement & Vendor Management
Prepare telecom equipment Material Requisitions (MRs) and Technical Bid Evaluations (TBEs).
Review vendor drawings, schematics, and compliance documents.
Participate in FATs (Factory Acceptance Tests) and ensure proper configuration and integration.
Construction & Commissioning Support
Supervise installation, termination, and testing of telecom cabling, antennas, devices, and racks.
Perform Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), system integration, and commissioning activities.
Troubleshoot and resolve telecom issues during startup and operational readiness testing.
