Mobile Core Network Engineer Fastweb + Vodafone is looking for two Mobile Core Network Engineer profiles to join the Technology Team. The position is full‐time, based in Milan with a hybrid working arrangement. Responsibilities Design and develop mobile architectures and solutions for 2 G, 4 G and 5 G (NSA/SA). Define service requirements and conduct technology scouting in direct collaboration with suppliers. Prepare and maintain technical documentation related to network design. Plan and manage project phases, coordinating suppliers and internal resources. Support validation activities and release in service. Work on the following macro domains: Mobile Packet Core (EPC/5 GC) and related services, e SIM/SIM management, Mobile Messaging, Vo LTE/Vo Wi Fi, Subscriber Data Management (SDM – HLR/HSS/UDM), signalling for reporting plans (MAP, CAP, DIAMETER). Relate with business functions for translating service requirements, with Operations for post‐deployment support, and with Cybersecurity for implementing network security measures.



Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Telecommunication Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field. Deep knowledge of Core LTE/EPC (MME, SGW, PGW, PCRF, HSS, etc.) and Core 5 GC (AMF, SMF, UPF, PCF, UDM/AUSF, etc.). Familiarity with 5 G SA service‐based architecture (SBA) and RESTful APIs. Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, KVM) and containerization (Kubernetes) in cloud‐native environments. Knowledge of IMS and CS voice networks. Experience in 2 G/4 G signalling and associated platforms (STP, DRA). Basic understanding of mobile terminal ecosystem, Vo LTE services, SIM/e SIM profile definitions, and Over‐The‐Air management. Basic knowledge of mobile messaging architecture (SMSC/MMSC) and related protocols (MTP, SCCP, TCAP, MAP, SMPP). Strong troubleshooting and KPI analysis skills, including log and trace monitoring.
