Leather goods Senior Prototypist

Inside the Givenchy Leather goods Atelier, under the responsibility of the Atelier Manager, the prototypist will manage several projects in leather goods, assembly luxury bags following the tasks given by the Manager respecting project deadlines. The person will be responsible for the technical assembling of luxury bag parts and related metal hardware or accessories in line with the characteristics dictated by the pattern, as well as ensuring functional and aesthetic goals. The person will collaborate with the cutting department, preparation department, stitching department and product development department.
Job responsibilities
- Manage the prototyping phase of Assembly (Great to know Cutting, Machine process)
- Read a pattern and identify the different parts that make it up
- Assemble bag parts and accessories on luxury bags
- Proactively suggest possible technical and quality improvements
- Maintain daily alignment with other technical figures (pattern makers, development and industrialization teams, etc.)
- Use specific instruments to do the job (like tweezers, clobber's knife, etc.)
- Identify technical problems during assembling phase and share possible solutions
- Collaborate with CAD and Industrialization teams using a continuous improvement approach
Qualifications
- Previous experience in all prototyping phases (minimum 10 years)
- Good knowledge of manufacturing techniques and leather goods processes for luxury bags creation
- Knowledge of raw materials (metal hardware, leather, fabrics)
- Problem solver and team‑work approach
- Sensitivity to a high‑quality product and attention to detail
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure
- Timeliness and flexibility; approach is requested
