This position is based at our Luxembourg headquarters and requires regular office presence. The EIB offers you the opportunity to live and work in a truly international and multi‐cultural environment. We also offer relocation support. The EIB, the European Union's bank, is seeking to recruit for its Secretariat General Directorate (SG), Economics Department (ECON), at its headquarters in Luxembourg, the Group Chief Economist. The appointment is for a term of up to five years. The successful candidate will be offered a definitive duration contract (CDD) of 5 years which may be renewed or converted in accordance with applicable policies and rules. Applicants will receive initial feedback in July 2026. Assessment Centres for selected applicants would take place in August 2026. Panel interviews are anticipated for September 2026. Purpose As the financial arm of the European Union,
