Responsibilities
Conducting research in the field of molecular and cellular microbiology applied to highly antibiotic-resistant bacteria. In particular, the selected candidate shall study bacterial infection mechanisms (Biosafety Level 2 – BSL2) with the aim of identifying potential new targets for prophylactic and therapeutic monoclonal antibodies and for the rational design of vaccines. The candidate shall also analyze the mechanisms of action of antibodies and drugs targeting antibiotic-resistant bacteria.
Designing and conducting experiments, analyzing data, drafting reports and scientific publications,



and presenting results in appropriate venues.
Providing assistance and training to FBS/CNAP colleagues in the design and implementation of assays requiring expertise in molecular and cellular microbiology.
Supervising PhD candidates and undergraduate/master's thesis students.
Cooperating with the laboratory manager in the management of the research group, including technical and junior staff, and in the maintenance of laboratory equipment.
Collaborating with internal and external FBS/CNAP partners, including within shared research projects.
Qualifications
PhD in scientific disciplines consistent with the scope of the position, namely microbiology, molecular biology, cellular biology;
Demonstrated experience, as evidenced by CV and publications, in molecular and/or cellular microbiology;
Excellent written and spoken English language.
Specific Requirements
Experience working in a Biosafety Level 2 (BSL2) environment;
