Role Overview
Act as a compliance advisor within the entity in connection with Italian and European financial regulations, focusing in particular on regulations related to insurance brokerage activities. Perform thematic regulatory reviews and provide expert support regarding regulatory changes. Collaborate with the Consolidated Supervision Team to monitor the business and contribute to the performance of second‑line‑of‑defence controls. Report directly to the Head of Products & Services Compliance of Bank JuliusBaer Europe S.A. and to the CMLRO, supporting him on compliance/AML topics related to the Italian branch.
Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with applicable banking and securities laws, regulations, and internal guidelines relating to financial regulation and insurance‑related rules (for example, IDD).
Maintain a sound and regular relationship with Italian authorities and other relevant regulators, ensuring reporting compliance.
Provide advice to and liaise with BJBE Management and senior management on compliance‑related matters.
Draft and review compliance guidance,



internal policies, and procedures.
Participate in projects addressing new regulatory initiatives and in the enhancement of regulatory processes.
Update BJBE Management on regulatory changes relevant to their area of responsibility.
Participate in the new business activities process as a regulatory advisor.
Implement and maintain all relevant global standards as defined in the Global JuliusBaer Compliance Program, considering local regulations and laws.
Analyze business activities in the local entity to assess existing compliance risks.
Design and conduct appropriate controls under the “Three Lines of Defence” model, ensuring a risk‑based approach.
Provide management assurance by periodically testing adherence to compliance rules.
Prepare regular and ad‑hoc reports for BJBE Management and Compliance Head Office regarding the execution of compliance activities and outcomes.
