Overview As a Testing Digital and Data Acquisition Engineer, you will design, setup, and maintain the data acquisition system (DAS) architecture for testing turbomachinery at Florence, Massa, and Avenza plants. You'll lead live data capture, quality checks, and post-processing to predict anomalies and certify test results for customers. You'll drive digitalization of test methods and develop DAS software and hardware selections, collaborating with Engineering and IT. This role sits at the intersection of hardware, software, and data to support energy‐transition goals.
Key Responsibilities Design and set up DAS to ensure correct functionality of measurement systems, software interfaces, and data storage per test specs
Conduct live data acquisition during tests, ensuring data quality and issuing corrective actions for calculation errors
Post-process data to identify hidden anomalies and generate test certificates and documentation
Develop and verify DAS including software, hardware selection, and data acquisition practices for tests
Develop and verify digital systems in testing areas,



including network, management systems, and servers
Manage relationships with Engineering and IT departments
Qualifications Engineering degree preferred in automation, electronics, energy, telecommunications, informatics, or physics
Holistic design mindset for hardware, software, and network solutions
Knowledge of data analysis algorithms, large data manipulation, waveform analysis, thermodynamics calculations, and ML concepts
Proficiency in programming languages such as Fortran, Python, VB.NET, C#, LabVIEW, or PLC programming
Ability to understand technical drawings and specifications
Experience with high-precision measurement systems
Industrial communication protocol knowledge preferred
At least two years' experience as software developer or system control designer
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Fluency in English and Italian; EU work eligibility
