Field Validation & Verification Engineer (GNSS / Surveying Systems) Work location: TOPCON Test & Facility Centre located in Concordia sulla Secchia – Modena ( Italy ). Job Purpose: We are seeking an engineer to perform validation and verification field testing of Topcon products in a controlled test site environment. The role involves end‐to‐end testing of integrated surveying solutions, including GNSS receivers, controllers, software, and cloud services, under realistic user scenarios. Core Job Responsibilities * Execute field validation and verification tests for: o GNSS receivers o Field controllers o Software applications and services * Configure and operate equipment as an end user would, including: o Receiver setup (base/rover configurations) o Software‐driven device configuration and workflows * Test communication interfaces and connectivity scenarios: o Controller receiver: Serial Port, USB, Bluetooth, Bluetooth LE, Wi‐Fi o Receiver receiver: Bluetooth Long Link, Radio Modem, Cellular Modem o Receiver correction services: NTRIP, L‐Band, etc.
* Work with integrated positioning systems: o GNSS + IMU (inertial systems) o GNSS + optical systems (Total Stations) * Validate real‐world user scenarios across complex hardware/software setups * Reproduce issues reported by users and dealers * Perform root cause analysis, identifying whether issues originate from: o Hardware o Firmware o Software o Services o Communication layers Education & Experience * Bachelor's or higher degree in GNSS Engineering, Surveying, Geodesy or a related field * Good understanding of GNSS principles * Intermediate level of English language (sufficient for reading technical documentation and verbal communicating in an international team) * Experience in testing or validation activities * Knowledge of bug tracking systems (e.g., JIRA) * Knowledge of test management tools (e.g., TestRail) * Background in surveying, geomatics, or positioning systems Working Conditions This role is primarily fi
