As a Forward Deployed Engineer at Kong, you bridge our API and service connectivity solutions with strategic enterprise customers. You drive adoption, tailor architectures, and influence outcomes by translating complex requirements into robust designs. You will lead hands‐on sessions, guide technical deep-dives, and ensure long‐term customer success. This role offers impact across product, engineering, and customer teams in a fast‐moving, collaborative environment.Benefits

Responsibilities
- 7+ years in a customer‐facing technical role (e.g., Forward Deployed Engineer, Solutions Architect, or Technical Consultant)
- Deep expertise in API lifecycle management, microservices, xrdztoy and distributed systems
- Strong command of cloud‐native technologies (Kubernetes, Docker, AWS/Azure/GCP)
- Proficiency in programming/scripting languages (Golang, Python, Lua, JavaScript) with ability to build integrations
- Experience with Open Source, APIs, or Infrastructure
- Ability to troubleshoot complex issues across multiple software layers
