Country Manager Italy

The purpose of the Country Manager Italy is to be accountable for the development and growth of the business of Rayner, developing and maximising sustainable long-term, profitable growth in Italy.
The role-holder will support the ongoing global integration of Rayner by ensuring the active participation of the local Italian entity in the Rayner Group.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Establish and lead Rayner's business operations in Italy, driving growth in line with the company's strategic objectives.
- Develop and execute the country business plan, delivering sales, profit and market share targets.
- Build, lead and develop a high-performing local team across sales and customer service.
- Ensure full compliance with local legal, regulatory, financial, HR and health & safety requirements.
- Manage budgets, operational performance and supplier/distributor relationships to support sustainable growth.
- Collaborate with global functions including Finance, HR, Legal, Marketing and Customer Service to implement Group policies and business initiatives.
- Develop and execute sales, marketing and product launch strategies, working closely with Territory Managers and key opinion leaders (KOLs).
- Identify commercial opportunities, including tenders and new business, to maximise growth and profitability.
- Represent Rayner in the Italian market, building strong relationships with customers, distributors and industry stakeholders.
- Monitor business performance, provide regular reporting, and drive continuous improvement across all aspects of the operation.

What Experience & Skills You Will Need:
Essential
- Degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, Life Sciences, Engineering, or a related discipline
- Proven experience in a senior commercial leadership role with full business, country, division, or P&L; responsibility
- Demonstrated success in developing and executing commercial strategies that deliver sustainable revenue growth and profitability
- Experience leading and developing cross-functional teams within a complex business environment
- Track record of delivering results through effective planning, prioritisation, and execution
- Experience managing multiple stakeholders, including customers, partners, senior leadership teams, and external organisations
- Fluency in Italian and English
Desirable
- Professional qualification in a commercial, financial, or leadership discipline (e.g., MBA, Chartered Accountant, CIM, or equivalent)
- Experience leading a commercial team or business in the ophthalmic medical devices field
- Significant commercial experience selling premium intraocular lenses and/or Phaco Equipment
