OverviewThe selected candidate for the Laboratory Technician position will report directly to the Vacuum Science Laboratory Manager and will be involved in experimental laboratory activities supporting the development of products and technologies for high and ultra-high vacuum applications. The resource will operate in a dynamic and highly technological environment, collaborating with scientists, product development engineers, and other technicians to achieve project goals.Main ResponsibilitiesVacuum Science Laboratory Activities:Perform laboratory tests for the characterization of pumps, materials, and vacuum systems under high and ultra-high vacuum conditions.Prepare mechanical, electrical, and vacuum experimental setups according to operating procedures and work instructions.Support experimental campaigns, ensuring compliance with quality, cost, and timeline standards.Use measurement and data acquisition systems to monitor process parameters and vacuum system performance.Analyze and process experimental data, preparing technical reports and presentations of results for the development team and Senior Scientists.Manage routine and extraordinary maintenance of test benches and assigned laboratory equipment.Ensure order, safety, and proper organization of laboratory spaces and equipment.Support for Thin Film Deposition Activities:Support thin film deposition activities in vacuum chambers for industrial and scientific applications.Collaborate in the preparation of mechanical and electrical setups required for deposition processes.Monitor deposition processes and contribute to post-process characterization activities and the compilation of related technical documentation.Technical SkillsAbility to collect and process data using main software applications and data acquisition systems.Ability to represent and analyze experimental results.Strong aptitude for practical laboratory work and the management of complex experimental systems.Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and adapt to dynamic, high-tech environments.Strong synthesis capabilities, precision, proactivity, and problem-solving orientation.Excellent written and oral communication skills to report on activities performed.Ability to read technical drawings and electrical diagrams.Knowledge of written and spoken English.EducationHigh School Diploma in Mechanics, Chemistry, Electricity, Electronics, Mechatronics, or equivalent technical field.LocationWhat We OfferWhat We OfferCompetitive compensation package, supplemented by performance-based incentive schemes.In relation to the candidate’s age, educational background, and prior experience in the sector, placement via a permanent contract or a professional apprenticeship will be evaluated, in full compliance with current statutory regulations.An international, innovative, and technologically advanced environment.Continuous training programs and concrete opportunities for professional growth.CCNL Metalmeccanico (Italian National Collective Labor Agreement for the Metalworking Industry) – Level C2/C3Our Commitment to DiversityAt SAES Getters, we are committed to fostering a work environment that values all aspects of diversity and inclusion, adopting fair practices so that everyone can feel like an integral part of the organization.
