EHS Lead – Data Centre Construction
Our client is one of Europes leading data centre construction contractors, delivering large-scale, mission-critical projects across the continent. We are seeking an experienced EHS Lead to oversee all Environmental, Health & Safety activities on a major data centre construction project in Milan.
Reporting to senior project leadership, you will be responsible for driving a proactive safety culture, ensuring compliance with Italian regulations, and leading a team of EHS Advisors to deliver best-in-class safety performance across the project.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all Environmental, Health & Safety activities on a large-scale data centre construction project.
- Ensure full compliance with Italian health, safety and environmental legislation and industry standards.
- Develop, implement and continuously improve site EHS policies, procedures and initiatives.
- Manage, mentor and develop a team of EHS Advisors on site.
- Conduct site inspections, audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Drive a culture of safety excellence and accountability across all project teams and subcontractors.
- Investigate incidents, near misses and non-conformances,
ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
- Build strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, project management teams and regulatory authorities.
- Deliver EHS training, toolbox talks and awareness programmes.
- Monitor project performance through KPIs and provide regular reports to senior management.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a senior EHS leadership role within construction, mission-critical or data centre projects.
- Strong understanding of Italian health, safety and environmental regulations.
- Experience managing and developing EHS teams.
- Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and drive behavioural safety initiatives.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced, high-value construction environment.
- Relevant Health & Safety qualification (NEBOSH, Diploma or Degree equivalent).
