ph3Programme Officer (Organizational Resilience Support) /h3 pThe Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) contributes to the achievement of the 2030 Agenda through FAO Strategic Framework by supporting the transformation to more efficient, inclusive, resilient and sustainable agrifood systems, for better production, better nutrition, a better environment, and a better life, leaving no one behind. /p h3Organizational Setting /h3 pThe Logistics Service Division (CSL) provides advice, guidance and oversight for business operations including a wide range of enabling functions at headquarters and in FAO Decentralized Offices; it provides policy and operational support to ensure that the Organization's administrative services function effectively and efficiently. /p pThe position is located in the Logistics Services Division (CSL) at FAO headquarters in Rome, Italy. /p h3Reporting Lines /h3 pThe Programme Officer (Organizational Resilience Support) reports to the Senior Programme Officer, CSLD, under the overall guidance of the Director, CSL. /p h3Technical Focus /h3 pEffectively support coordination of the organizational resilience and oversight of the business continuity management area. Ensure compliance with FAO's established policies and procedures and reflect best practices to support operational resilience in line with the UN wide best practices and FAO's Administrative Manual. /p h3Key Results /h3 pDevelop, implement, monitor and evaluate assigned programme/projects. /p h3Key Functions /h3 ul liParticipate in the development, implementation and evaluation of assigned programmes/projects. /li liMonitor and analyze programme/project development and implementation. /li liReview relevant documents and reports; identify problems and issues to be addressed and propose corrective actions; liaise with relevant parties; identify and track follow‑up actions. /li liAssist in policy development, including review and analysis of issues and trends, preparation of impact evaluation or equivalent studies. /li liPrepare various written outputs, e.g. drafts background papers, analyses, sections of reports and studies, inputs to publications. /li liUndertake outreach activities; conduct training workshops, seminars; make presentations on assigned topics/activities. /li liCoordinate activities related to budget and funding (programme/project preparation and submissions, progress reports, financial statements); prepare related documents/reports (pledging, work programme, programme budget). /li /ul h3Specific Functions /h3 ul liSupport coordination of activities related to the Organizational Resilience Management System (ORMS) (preparation and submissions, progress reports and preparation of related documents/reports for high level interagency events including planning of required resources).



/li liCollaborate with stakeholders in strategic thinking and support development and implementation of the planned activities for all ORMS areas. /li liSupport development and delivery of activities for strengthened business continuity management, including Business Impact Analysis, Maintenance, Exercise and Review (ME‑R) activities, internal training, workshops and high level events. /li liContribute to policy development, review and compliance including review of ongoing processes, tools and resources. /li liCollect, analyze and provide written inputs and prepare background papers and reports for high level events of the UN system organizations, including governing bodies, high level committees, joint review and evaluation missions. /li liSupport the coordination of cross‑cutting activities, with specific focus on Decentralized Offices business continuity support, ensuring synergies amongst units, aiming for achievement of efficiencies and quality results in line with the division's programme of work and budget and tasks. /li liContribute to content development and support delivery of facilitated sessions for testing business continuity plans and after‑action review steps. /li liPerform other related duties as required. /li /ul h3Candidates will be assessed against the following /h3 ul liAdvanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in business administration or public administration, social science, political science, international development, international relations or a related field. /li liFive years of relevant experience in project or programme management and business operations including organisational resilience management. /li liWorking knowledge (proficiency level C) of English and intermediate knowledge level B of another official FAO language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish). /li /ul h3Results Focus /h3 pTeam Work, Communication, Building effective relationships, Knowledge Sharing and Continuous Improvement. /p h3Technical/Functional Skills /h3 ul liWork experience in more than one location or area of work, particularly in field positions is desirable. /li liExtent and relevance of experience in business operations and operational resilience management. /li liExtent of experience in interagency collaboration, including engagement in operations management teams (OMT) at the country office or regional level. /li liExtent and relevance of experience in business continuity management, policy formulation,



analysis, planning and implementation. /li liExtent of knowledge of UN Organisational Resilience Management standards and compliance, planning and delivery of targeted events, review of processes is considered an asset. /li liExtent of experience in business impact analysis, mapping of critical functions for effective business continuity management, Maintenance, Exercise and Review (ME‑R) for Business Continuity improvements. /li liStrong analytical and report writing skills on high‑level interagency events is an asset. /li liProfessional certification in business continuity management is an asset. /li /ul h3General Information /h3 ul liExtension of fixed term appointments is based on certification of performance and availability of funds. /li liFAO reserves the right not to make an appointment. /li liAppointment will be subject to certification that the candidate is medically fit for appointment, accreditation, any residency or visa requirements, and security clearances. /li /ul h3Conditions of Service /h3 pA competitive compensation and benefits package is offered.
