In this role, you will be responsible for validating, testing, and calibrating Battery Management System (BMS) software functions within modern electric vehicle architectures.You will work across multiple control units and collaborate closely with function owners, suppliers, and project stakeholders to ensure robust software performance, compliance with requirements, and successful release approvals. This position combines hands‑on validation, calibration, and system‑level analysis in both vehicle and test bench environments.Key ResponsibilitiesTest, validate, and calibrate BMS software functions across multiple ECUs and vehicle systemsDevelop, manage, and execute test plans and test campaigns according to project requirementsPerform software validation activities on vehicles and test facilities (e.G. HiL, test benches)Analyze test results and provide clear, structured, and comprehensive test reportsDetect,



investigate, and report system anomalies, including root‑cause analysis using diagnostic data and tracesDevelop and optimize BMS software calibrations to meet performance and timing targetsSupport BMS software development and integration at project levelCollaborate with function owners and suppliers for configuration alignment and issue resolutionUpdate functional specifications, requirements, and test catalogues based on software changesSupport software release processes, including documentation and approval activitiesParticipate in test trips and validation campaignsRequirementsDegree in Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mechatronics, or related fieldAt least 1 year of experience in automotive function validation, testing, or application, preferably in EVsExperience in anomaly detection and root‑cause analysisStrong knowledge of CAN and Ethernet communication protocolsExperience with Vector toolchain (e.G. CANape, CANoe) and diagnostic toolsExperience with HiL testing and validation of E/E systemsGood knowledge of MATLAB/SimulinkAbility to manage multiple tasks and work independently in a structured mannerStrong communication skills and ability to collaborate within cross‑functional teamsHands‑on experience with charging systems and energy management is considered a plusAt Bertrandt, we place great importance on equal treatment and equal opportunity.
