Technical Chief Designer
The personis a senior engineering professional responsible for leading the design and development of a complete vehicle area across the entire lifecycle, from concept to production. The role combines strong technical expertise with project leadership, ensuring high-performance, manufacturable, and cost-effective solutions, while guiding and developing junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the full design lifecycle of a complete vehicle area, from concept definition to final production release
Oversee 3D modelling, detailed design, and technical drawing creation for components and assemblies
Coordinate all phases of development, including initial assembly and testing activities
Interface with suppliers and the purchasing department to optimise technical solutions and manufacturability
Drive design decisions by balancing performance, cost, timing, and project priorities
Mentor and support junior designers, fostering their professional growth within the team
Produce and present technical documentation and progress reports to internal stakeholders




Ensure quality standards and technical requirements are correctly defined and achieved
Mandatory Skills
Fluent in technical automotive English
Proven experience in cross-functional design teams within motorsport or automotive environments
Advanced proficiency in CATIA V5 :
Solid, Surface, and Sheet Metal Design
Assembly Design and Drafting
FEA analysis
Strong ability to size and validate components based on load cases
Deep knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes for high-performance automotive applications
Ability to adapt designs based on cost, timing, and project constraints
Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to work autonomously
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of experience in motorsport or high-performance automotive design
Passion for racing and high-performance vehicles
Personal Skills
Precision and attention to detail
Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts
Ability to work in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments
Collaborative mindset and openness to feedback
Proactive attitude and resilience
Strong troubleshooting capability
