About the role
We are looking for a Frontend AI Product Engineer / AI Champion to help us bring artificial intelligence into our products and internal company processes. The role will mainly focus on designing and developing AI-powered user experiences within R3GIS products, with part of the time dedicated to experimenting with AI tools for internal workflows.
Main responsibilities
75% product : designing, prototyping and developing AI features integrated into R3GIS products, with a strong focus on frontend and user experience. Examples include chatbots for data consultation and integration, intelligent assistants for users and configurators, AI-supported workflows, dashboards for predictive models such as tree failure risk, and interfaces that make complex data easier to understand and use.
25% internal processes : identifying and introducing AI tools to improve internal activities such as documentation, support, development, testing, data analysis and company knowledge management.
Core requirements
We are looking for someone with:
availability to work from the province of Bolzano/Bozen ;
a master’s degree in computer science or a related field, with at least 3 years of relevant professional experience , or a PhD in Computer Science, AI, Data Science or a related field;
Good communication skills in English;
solid experience in frontend development;
experience with frontend frameworks such as Angular , React, Vue or similar;
practical interest and skills in AI, LLMs, RAG, agents, automation systems or machine learning applications;
ability to transform AI prototypes into clear, usable and reliable product features;
attention to usability, accessibility, performance and maintainability;
a pragmatic mindset, technical curiosity and the ability to work with different teams.
Nice to have
The following would be considered a plus:
experience with Angular and complex web applications;
knowledge of APIs, REST services, authentication and integration with backend systems;
experience with dashboards, data visualization, maps or GIS interfaces;
knowledge of PostgreSQL/PostGIS, GeoJSON, MapLibre or similar technologies;
experience with environmental data, trees, smart cities or urban green management;
basic knowledge of Python, Go or backend development;
knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes or cloud environments;
attention to privacy, security, data quality and the reliability of AI solutions.
