Experteer Overview As an Associate or Senior Editor for Nature Genetics, you will shape genetics and genomics research by guiding manuscript selection, coordinating peer review, and commissioning commentary. You will work within the Nature Genetics editorial team to support strategic goals and engage with the international scientific community. The role offers exposure to high‑impact cancer research topics and opportunities to organize meetings and contribute to a leading journal. This hybrid position places you in major European or Asian hubs, collaborating across journals and production teams to advance the field.
Retribuzione / Benefits Critically evaluate manuscripts and make initial editorial decisions
Select and engage with peer reviewers and interpret their feedback for editorial decisions
Guide authors through reviewer feedback and streamline revisions
Ensure compliance with professional, scientific and ethical standards
Collaborate with the chief editor and editorial team to implement annual strategic plan
Make timely decisions adhering to processing deadlines
Foster relationships with Springer Nature teams beyond Nature Genetics
Write front‑half pieces (Editorials, Research Highlights) and edit manuscripts
Participate in or co‑organize international scientific meetings and conferences
Engage with the global scientific community through visits and outreach
Be responsive to requests from authors, reviewers, and colleagues
Adhere to and help improve internal pipelines and editorial policies
Responsabilità Ph.D. in cancer research or oncology, or Ph.D. in biomedical research with postdoctoral cancer experience
Broad interest and in-depth knowledge in cancer research
Ability to critically evaluate cancer‑relevant research
Fluency in written and spoken English
Proven scientific and academic writing ability
Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills
Willingness to learn new fields and engage with the scientific community
Ability to work in a fast‑paced, target‑driven environment
Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills
Basic understanding of publishing workflows and systems
