Experteer Overview
As Cost Management Director in Milan, you will lead the end-to-end cost management for Data Centre projects in Italy. You will develop and expand cost services, secure new business, and ensure high-quality delivery through strong governance and client liaison. You will guide pre- and post-contract activities, drive value engineering, and manage margins and resources. This role offers strategic leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and the opportunity to shape cost management practices for complex, high-impact projects.

Expand and mature cost management services and identify new business opportunities
Build capability and ensure appropriate resourcing for projects
Lead and develop teams to deliver high-quality service
Ensure compliance with business management systems across contracts, risk, health/safety/welfare, delivery, and finance
Oversee contract execution, governance and commercial control
Monitor margins, fees, and resource forecasts; manage commissions
Lead pre- and post-contract QS activities: feasibility, cost estimating, cost planning, procurement, tendering, contract administration
Manage variations, cost checks, valuations, change control, and final accounts
Produce and present cost plans, tender reports, monthly cost reports,



and post-contract financial updates
Drive value engineering and negotiate commercial outcomes with clients and contractors
Act as main interface with clients, consultants, and contractors across project stages
Build relationships and ensure effective information flow
Enhance cost management processes, templates, and tools to improve efficiency and quality
Responsabilità
Minimum of 10 years' experience in cost management
Experience leading cost management commissions for large, complex construction projects
Strong knowledge of procurement routes, value management and value engineering, and life cycle costing
People management experience in project delivery context
Technical proficiency in all cost management areas (pre-contract, post-contract, final accounts)
Solid understanding of mechanical, process, electrical, plumbing systems and civil/structural considerations
Experience in the Italian construction industry; knowledge of contractual documentation is advantageous
Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task as a team player
Working knowledge of MS Office and modern cost management digital tools
