Cost Controls Manager | Global Data Centre Capital Programme | Independent Contracting Engagement We are supporting a global technology leader on one of the most ambitious capital programmes currently underway — a large-scale data centre expansion spanning multiple sites across Europe and North America. We are looking for a Cost Controls Manager to join this programme on the owner's side — someone who has built solid EPC cost control foundations and is ready to step into a complex, high-value environment where the numbers matter, the pace is real, and the exposure to senior programme leadership is significant. What you will be doing Cost Control & Budget Management Own the cost control function for one or more EPC packages — maintaining budgets, tracking commitments and expenditure, and ensuring the cost baseline stays defensible from mobilisation through close-out. Change & Variation Cost Tracking Support the identification, assessment, and processing of variation orders and change events from a cost perspective. Build a clear audit trail linking scope change to budget impact, and keep forecasts current as positions evolve. Forecasting & Cost-to-Complete Assist in the preparation and review of cost forecasts and cost-to-complete analysis — gathering progress data, cross-referencing commitments, and supporting the senior team in forming an accurate view of final cost exposure.
Reporting & Trend Analysis Maintain accurate cost trackers and produce clear internal reporting that gives programme leadership visibility of budget status, variance, trends, and open cost risk. Stakeholder Interface Interface with the client, subcontractors, and internal project teams to keep cost data accurate, timely, and aligned across the full delivery lifecycle. What we are looking for 7–10 years of experience in cost control or cost management within EPC or major capital project environments Hands-on experience with budgeting, forecasting, cost-to-complete, and variation/change cost tracking — not just exposure, but ownership Engineering, quantity surveying, or construction management background — we need someone who can engage credibly with contractors on technical and commercial matters Data centre, critical infrastructure, or large-scale MEP experience is a strong advantage Detail-oriented and organised — you understand that cost control lives or dies on the quality of the data Clear and confident communicator, written and verbal Comfortable working in a fast-moving, multi-stakeholder programme environment Engagement details Duration: 18 months with strong possibility of extension Arrangement: Independent Contracting Engagement Apply as soon as possible with your CV — applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and I will be in touch to arrange a call if your profile fulfils the requirements.
