Overview In this remote (Italy) senior role, you will help build and operate TrueLayer's open banking platform at scale. You'll work with cross?functional teams to design, implement, and run reliable financial services that enable instant payments and data access. You'll tackle complex distributed systems challenges as the platform grows across geographies. This role offers mentorship, growth opportunities, and direct impact on product reliability and developer experience.
Benefits Become proficient with our platforms and tools (AWS, Kubernetes, Prometheus/Grafana; Rust and .NET) and fill knowledge gaps as needed
Collaborate with Engineering Manager and Product Manager to size and break down features
Communicate effectively with technical and non?technical stakeholders
Apply design patterns, testing and automation for fast, safe iteration
Take an active role in incident response and lead investigations for areas under your responsibility




Contribute to cross?team technology initiatives through engineering guilds

Responsibilities Experience building distributed systems in Rust, .NET, Java, or Go
Strong understanding of design patterns and principles
Familiarity with API design and at least one web framework
Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases
Understanding of microservice architecture and its challenges
Familiarity with testing practices (TDD, unit/integration)
Experience with observability and alerting in distributed systems
