The primary responsibility of the Associate Accountant is to work with the Supervisor/Coordinator/Senior Accountant to meet the accounting, tax, and other reporting commitments of the relevant clients.
The role is responsible for achieving individual goals and contributing to broader departmental objectives. Furthermore, the Associate Accountant ensures the timely and accurate preparation of accounts, calculations, and daily delivery of high-quality services to a portfolio of assigned clients.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting entries
Ensure compliance with VAT principles
Calculation of monthly withholding tax
Preparation of tax returns
Calculation of Italian Municipal Property Taxes (IMU, TASI)
Create queries and reports on payroll data
Prepare simple financial reports or support a Senior Associate Accountant in preparing complex financial reports
Escalate relevant queries to more senior team members
Support and manage client and internal requests in a timely manner
Key Requirements
Intermediate knowledge of English (B2)
Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
Knowledge of the Profis system is considered a plus
High school diploma and/or degree in Economics
Up to 5 years' experience in similar organizations
Work in compliance with company procedures and related standards
Strong client service skills and the ability to meet required deadlines
Organized and accountable approach to work
Ensure that all accounting procedures remain aligned with applicable laws and organizational objectives
Strong communication skills
Knowledge of accounting and budget accounts
Operational knowledge of VAT and other corporate taxation matters
Understanding of international financial/capital markets and financial instruments
Understanding of regulatory requirements for companies in Italy (statutory deadlines, filing requirements, etc.)
