ppbBLACKSHAPE SPA, /b a manufacturer of light aircraft and aeronautical systems for general aviation, is currently seeking a candidate to join its Design Organisation in the role of Lead Flight Test Engineer.
/p h3Responsibilities /h3 pReporting to the Head pf Flight Test Organization, the applicant will be assigned to the following tasks: /p pbFlight operations coordination: /bCoordinate flight operations related to the flight (test) campaign, including production aircraft delivery, ensuring proper planning and alignment of crew availability, aircraft availability, operational slots, airspace requirements, ground support, maintenance readiness and dispatch arrangements.
/p pbFlight test planning: /bDefine and coordinate flight test activities, including objectives, aircraft configuration, required resources, instrumentation, schedule and operational constraints.
/p pbTest plan and test card preparation: /bPrepare or coordinate the preparation of flight test plans, test procedures and test cards, ensuring that test points are clear, executable and traceable to engineering or certification objectives.
/p pbRisk assessment and safety preparation: /bLead or support flight test risk assessments, define mitigation actions, limitations and abort criteria, and ensure that risks are properly reviewed before flight.
/p pbTest readiness coordination: /bCoordinate test readiness reviews and confirm that aircraft, crew, instrumentation, documentation, maintenance status and operational arrangements are ready for the planned flight test.
/p pbCrew and team coordination: /bCoordinate with Test Pilots, Flight Test Engineers, design specialists, maintenance, telemetry and ground support teams to ensure a common understanding of objectives, procedures, limitations and safety actions.
/p pbFlight test execution: /bLead the engineering conduct of the flight test, either on board or from the telemetry/control room,
monitoring test progress, data quality and compliance with the approved test cards.
/p pbPost-flight debriefing and data review: /bLead or support the post-flight debriefing, confirm test point completion, review data quality and identify open actions or required re-flights.
/p pbFlight test reporting: /bPrepare, review or approve flight test reports, ensuring that results, conclusions and limitations are technically sound and traceable to the original test objectives.
/p pbInterface with design, certification and airworthiness teams: /bAct as the main engineering interface between Flight Test Operations and Design Office, Certification, Airworthiness, Production, Maintenance and Quality functions.
/p h3Technical Skills, Qualifications and Professional Experience /h3 h3Essential /h3 ul liDegree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Mechanical, Electrical or equivalent Engineering discipline.
/li liProven experience in flight test preparation, execution, data review and reporting; /li liStrong knowledge of aircraft systems, performance, limitations and flight test procedures; /li liExperience in coordinating aircraft, crew, maintenance, ground support, documentation and operational constraints; /li liKnowledge of safety and operational risk assessment processes; /li liWorking knowledge of EASA Part 21, Permit to Fly / flight conditions and airworthiness principles; /li liStrong leadership, coordination and decision-making skills; /li liFluent written and spoken English.
/li /ul h3Desirable /h3 ul liFlight Test Engineer rating, preferably Category 1, from a recognised Training Organisation; /li liPilot License.
/li /ul pThe cross-functional skills required include a results-oriented approach, a spirit of initiative, the ability to plan and organise work, leadership with a focus on people development, and effective, clear and collaborative communication.
