Overview
An excellent opportunity has become available to join Elliott Group as a Field Service Engineer. The successful candidate will join our field service operation that covers field maintenance activities throughout Europe, Middle East, Africa. This includes both Elliott Group and non‑Elliott Group equipment. The successful candidate will lead installation, commissioning, maintenance and troubleshooting activities for our on‑shore and offshore customers around the clock.
Responsibilities
- Lead Field Service technical advisor for technical support both on site or as a resource for the customer and other Field Service personnel.
- Supervises staff (Elliott, customer and contracted) at customer sites, providing technical expertise and advice on jobs.
- Quotes jobs and assists with invoicing content and business decisions affecting profitability.
- Manages complex packages and contracts; investigates problems, customer complaints and disputes; reaches conclusions; and sells solutions both to customer and within Elliott.
- Performs hazard identification and mitigation for all tasks being performed as part of job responsibilities.
- Manages effective field service reporting to assure proper feedback of product or contact trouble to enable finding the root cause and the correction and elimination of problems.
- Provides support to all department and company activities as directed by Field Service Operations management.
Qualifications and Skills
- Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent mechanical apprenticeship and several years’ experience in the field of turbo machinery.
- At least 5‑10 years’ experience working on rotating equipment, hands‑on experience is requested.
- Practical oriented engineer with both supervisory and hands‑on experience.
- Previous experience writing comprehensive and detailed service reports.
- Proven track record working onsite with customers and leading their personnel during installation, repair and maintenance.
- Willing and able to travel approximately 200+ days per year to customer sites throughout Europe, Middle East, Russia and Africa.
- Offshore work in the UK North Sea is part of the assignments.
- Excellent command of the English language.
- Health, Safety and Environmentally focused, and promotes safety in the workplace.
- Proficiency with MS Office in Word, Excel and MS Project.
- Excellent command of the Italian and English language.
Base Location
Home based in Italy with frequent travel to customer sites and workshop facilities throughout Europe, Middle East and Africa, including offshore.
