OHB Italia is seeking for its Satellites Business Unit in Milano or Torino for immediate start a

MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER (m/f) REF.Mech.SAT_2026

Your Tasks

- Collaborate with system engineer (project responsible) for mechanical design requirement definition and discussion
- Collaborate with electrical and electronic engineer to define the input for mechanical design
- Collaborate with thermal and structural engineers to accommodate complex systems
- Create 3D designs for space equipment
- Create 2D manufacturing and technical assembly and ICD drawings, as well as project-level documentation
- Optimize equipment mechanical design to improve performance and reliability
- Perform fast-prototypes for quick validation of design
- Specify, select, and acquire necessary components required for mechanical designs
- Manage part lists and libraries including standard mechanical and electrical components

Your Qualifications

- Bachelor or Master degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Experience in 3D and 2D modelling (experience with NX software is a plus)
- Experience with NX’s PCB Exchange design is a plus
- Experience in both thermal & structural design (is an advantage)




- Minimum 3 years’ experience in the mechanical design of mechanical/structural systems (in space field is a plus)
- Experience in understanding of materials (metallic and composite), coatings, and adhesives
- Fluent in English
- Experience gathering technical requirements and developing technical specifications and documentations
- Experience in relationships with Customers and with Subcontractors and Suppliers during his/her past work
- System-oriented thinking and vision
- Awareness and sensitivity for cost and schedule impacts
- Soft skills driving for the position are:

- creative thinking ability applied to engineering (concepts and solutions) and in approaching problem-solving during the project development; capability to develop effective ideas.

The gross annual remuneration package will be determined based on the degree of alignment between the candidate’s profile and the requirements of the role, as well as the level of professional experience acquired. The salary range is therefore as follows:

€30,000–€50,000
