The Opportunity
Allianz plc is delivering an IT transformation strategy in the context of applications and tools that are used by employees to streamline process, enhance productivity, and support the overall IT transformation strategy. As we continue to evolve this capability, we have an opportunity for an IT Operations and Provider Manager to join our team.
Reporting to the Head of IT, this person will ensure resilient, secure, and compliant IT operations while providing strategic oversight of digital and technology transformation across a regulated insurance and financial services environment.
This role has end-to-end accountability for both the run and change functions of IT, ensuring day-to-day operations are optimised while technology change is introduced in a controlled, value-driven manner.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure day-to-day IT operations are managed and operated optimally across both run and change functions.
Own IT service delivery and third-party provider performance across all critical systems.
Set, monitor, and enforce vendor contract KPIs and SLAs,



ensuring consistently high service levels.
Develop and deliver structured service improvement plans.
Ensure well-planned service introduction, transition, and service decommissioning.
Lead service monitoring and service steering, including operational loss calculations linked to system and process uptime.
Liase with IT governance, cyber security oversight, and operational resilience functions.
Act as business owner for IT transformation programmes, including core systems, automation, and digital platforms.
Define and manage the workplace technology strategy aligned to the overall IT strategy.
Oversee workplace adoption and continuously steer, refine, and optimise user experience and productivity.
Own incident management processes, including root cause analysis and preventative action.
Key Outcomes:
Stable, secure, and compliant IT services.
Optimised run and change delivery with minimal business disruption.
Strong control over outsourcing, third-party, and concentration risk.
Clear and prioritised technology and workplace transformation roadmap.
Reduced operational loss and improved system availability.
Measurable efficiency, resilience, and customer outcomes.
Key Requirements / Skills & Experience
Essential:
A relevant 3rd level qualification, with 5+ years level experience in IT Operations/Provider Management
Senior experience in IT operations, service management, or technology leadership.
Strong background in vendor management, SLA/KPI governance,



and incident management.
Proven experience optimising run and change in regulated environments.
Confident communicator
Pragmatic leader who balances innovation with operational control.
Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to interpret the audience and communicate accordingly
Ability to collaborate and work effectively with cross functional teams, including business teams and outsourcing partners
Desirable:
