In this role you support pre-award activities and contract management for European and international research funding. You work across fundraising, legal, and project management to ensure compliant proposal development and robust consortium agreements. You shape governance, negotiate IPR and other terms, and facilitate a smooth post-award handoff. Support proposal prep and submission in line with funder rules and internal procedures
Coordinate with FR, Legal, PIs, PMs and internal units during proposal development
Draft and review pre-award documents (letters of intent, eligibility checks, due diligence questionnaires)
Coordinate with Legal & Contract Advisory to draft NDAs, MOUs, and other pre-contract instruments
Shape consortium governance and anticipate negotiation issues with the FR team
Define non-negotiables on IPR, liability, confidentiality, and governance in collaboration with Legal
Create and maintain a FR knowledge base with model clauses and guidelines
Lead preparation and negotiation of Consortium Agreements for Horizon Europe, using DESCA and standard clauses
Manage negotiation on IPR (background/foreground, exploitation rights, access rights) and coordinate with partners
Coordinate with partners and internal units to finalise consortium agreements and obtain signatures
Perform legal due diligence, identify legal risks, and communicate clearly to stakeholders
Maintain repository of signed CAs and negotiation templates
Ensure structured post-award handoff to PM with contractual framework and outstanding issues
Contribute to FR process improvement and cross-functional issue resolution
Provide training on contractual and procedural matters to FR team
Responsabilità
Master Degree in Law, European Studies, International Relations or related field
Minimum 3 years of grant and contract management experience in a research setting
Proven Horizon Europe (or FP7/H****) experience and familiarity with DESCA and MGA
Excellent English skills;
Italian for internal coordination
Strong analytical, drafting, and due diligence capabilities
Experience coordinating multi-partner consortia and complex negotiations
IPR expertise in research contexts;
familiarity with background/foreground IP and exploitation
Knowledge of EU funding tools (Funding & Tenders Portal, SYGMA) and data management/open data obligations
Ability to read contractual texts in English and Italian
Experience liaising with legal/administrative offices in international settings
Knowledge of EU, Italian MUR and other major funding programmes
Strong interpersonal, communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
Ability to manage parallel processes with multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
Familiarity with AI tools and willingness to develop AI-assisted workflows
