Job Description: Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated Installation Engineer .
The successful candidate will have solid experience in the rail industry, managing wayside installation design and routing cables along the track and within technical rooms.
This position is based in Italy.
Accountabilities Identify contract requirements in terms of equipment and cableways installation design and monitor their compliance within the assigned Project.
Design, coordinate and verify the installation design of the main railway systems technologies (Signalling, Power Supply and Traction Power, Overhead Contact Line, Telecommunications, Automatic Fare Collection, Security/Surveillance, Public Address, etc.), ensuring compliance with contract, system requirements, and local regulations.
Design, coordinate and verify cableways layout and cable routes within technical rooms and along the track system, managing filling ratios and proposing new pathways.




Cooperate with BIM Manager and BIM Coordinator to define equipment BIM models according to the BIM Execution Plan.
Prepare, attend or chair clash detection resolution meetings; manage and seek resolution of clashes among Railway technologies.
Ensure application of quality procedures for document issuance at every design stage.
Identify critical issues in project development and propose mitigation actions.
Represent the installation engineering team and support design choices with the client.
Proficiently use BIM and CAD software for interface definition and management according to the Engineering Management Plan.
Competencies: Installation engineering principles Electrical and mechanical systems integration Reading and interpretation of technical drawings and schematics Problem solving Schedule management Interface management Contractor coordination Required Skills/ Knowledge: 5 to 10 years of experience in technologies installation design, preferably within Railway Engineering.
Site surveying for installation works or existing infrastructure.
Problem identification and resolution in installation design development.
Pathway and raceway sizing considering existing conditions.
Familiarity with Requirement Traceability Matrix and Interface Registers tools.




Technical management of subcontractors.
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
Adaptability to project environment changes.
Proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks.
Knowledge of Common Data Environment tools for BIM processes.
Previous construction experience considered a plus.
Desired Skills/ Knowledge: Organizational skills and maintenance of project records.
Teamwork and cooperative approach.
Mobility mindset.
Education/Qualifications Civil Engineering, Building Engineering, or Architecture Degree.
Electrical Engineering Degree considered if accompanied by broad railway installation design expertise.
Languages Fluent English.
Proficient Italian.
Alla posizione si applica il vigente CCNL per l'industria metalmeccanica privata e l'installazione di impianti, con inquadramento nel livello B2, ai sensi della relativa disciplina di classificazione del personale.
Retribuzione annua lorda compresa tra ******€ e ******€.
