JBT Marel is looking for a skilled and driven Field Service Engineer to join our team in Romania. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, servicing, and optimizing advanced poultry processing equipment at customer sites across the region.

Our systems combine mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical engineering, and controls technology, making this an exciting opportunity for an engineer who enjoys solving technical challenges while working closely with customers.

What You’ll Be Doing

-

- Prepare and execute installation and service projects for primary poultry processing equipment

- Carry out preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs to maximise uptime and reliability

- Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and controls-related issues on-site

- Lead and coordinate local teams during larger installation and commissioning projects

- Provide clear communication and progress updates to customers throughout project execution

- Train customer operators and maintenance teams on equipment operation and best practices

- Deliver structured technical feedback and improvement suggestions to internal engineering and R&D; teams

- Complete accurate service reports and project documentation

About You

You are a hands‑on and customer‑focused engineer who enjoys working independently in the field while remaining closely connected to your team. You thrive in technically challenging environments and take pride in delivering high‑quality service and support.

Experience & Education

-

- Technical qualification in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering

- Experience working with industrial equipment, preferably within food processing or manufacturing environments

- Strong mechanical aptitude with electrical troubleshooting capability

- Experience with pneumatics, hydraulics, and automation systems is an advantage

- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics

- Good English communication skills (written and spoken)

- Valid driving licence

Travel & Working Environment

- Approximately 60% travel within Romania and EMEA

- Mix of on‑site customer support, installations, maintenance, and office‑based preparation/reporting

- Travel schedules planned in advance xysqume where possible to support work‑life balance
