Embedded Software Engineer – Thales Alenia Space Location: Gorgonzola, Lombardy, Italy. Full-time on site. Permanent contract. Responsibilities * Design, implement and test features with scalability, performance, deployment or operation and end-user experience in mind. * Apply coding/implementation best practices to produce elegant, high quality and reusable code. * Implement and follow security best practices for web applications. * Collaborate with other developers to share knowledge and improve overall product/solution. * Keep up-to-date with latest technologies evolution and frameworks. * Interact with UX team to implement and verify user experience concepts. * Follow the agile methodology used for the project, including creation of user stories and tasks to build a robust system based on user-centric design. * Archive source code into the source code repository for projects. * Investigate issues and deploy applications and new releases into testing/integration environment as needed. Qualifications * Master of Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field. * Experience working within a DevOps/Agile/Scrum team and in challenging, reactive environments. * Experience developing in real-time environments,



interacting between low-level hardware and high-level functionality. * Willingness to work on devices ranging from radar and embedded calculators to smartcards and wearables for telecommunications and IoT. * Proficiency in embedded OS software such as Linux, VxWorks, FastOS Linux. * Proficient in C, C++, VB.NET, ADA, Assembly programming. * Experience using programming performance tools and measuring instruments. * Ability to develop/adapt simulation tools and carry out integration/testing activities on platform. * Experience in embedded system and application design, configuration and communication protocols and interfaces such as DDS, ARINC. * Knowledge of data processes, mathematics, statistics, and data technologies. * Knowledge of cloud providers like AWS or GCP. * Experience with automated deployment and tools such as Helm, Yaml, Ansible, Docker. * Familiarity with JIRA and Confluence. * Good written and spoken English.
