This role provides strategic and operational leadership in the application of engineering principles, ensuring the reliability, resilience, and performance of critical electrical infrastructure. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, the SME is responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving power‑related standards, policies, procedures, and best practices. The role leverages advanced technical expertise and extensive industry experience to evaluate complex operational issues, mitigate risk, support incident investigations, and drive initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, quality, and reliability. The SME collaborates closely with cross‑functional teams, internal stakeholders, and external partners, influencing decision‑making across multiple disciplines. Acting as a trusted advisor to site operations and leadership teams, the role provides technical guidance, supports the achievement of operational objectives, and ensures alignment with corporate standards and industry best practices. Success in this position requires sound independent judgement, strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities, and the ability to make informed decisions on complex technical matters. Performance is measured against departmental goals, operational outcomes, and the successful delivery of technical and business objectives. /p pThis role requires onsite training/onboarding in one or multiple other EdgeConneX locations. Expected travel in the first 6 months is significant. /p h3Primary Responsibilities /h3 ul liServe as the primary technical authority for all critical power systems across the local data centre portfolio, providing expert engineering guidance and strategic support to Site Engineering teams, Campus Management,



and Operations Leadership. /li liDevelop, review, and maintain MOP templates and power system standards across the local portfolio. /li liLead the application and development of technical policies, procedures, and standards for critical power infrastructure. /li liPlan and schedule critical power maintenance in line with the PPM calendar, including method selection and risk assessment. /li liAssess complex technical situations and implement safe, effective, and practical solutions. /li liManage on‑site testing of mission‑critical power equipment, ensuring alignment with EdgeConneX, EMEA, and global standards. /li liLead root cause analysis and ensure corrective actions are completed. /li liIdentify opportunities to improve energy efficiency and reduce power‑related costs while maintaining continuity and SLA compliance. /li liCoordinate with mechanical, civil, procurement, customer, and other stakeholder groups on cross‑discipline matters. /li liSupport new site commissioning and infrastructure expansion as the power technical authority. /li liTravel across EMEA sites as required, typically up to 25–50%. /li /ul h3Knowledge, Skills Abilities /h3 ul liExtensive technical expertise in critical data centre electrical infrastructure, including high‑ and low‑voltage distribution systems, switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS systems, ATS/STS equipment, RPPs, and associated protection, control, and monitoring systems. /li liProven ability to analyse and resolve complex power engineering challenges through the application of advanced technical knowledge, sound engineering judgement, and innovative problem‑solving approaches. /li liStrong understanding of the integration and operational interdependencies between electrical, mechanical, and building management systems within a mission‑critical environment. /li liDemonstrated capability to interpret, apply, and enhance established engineering standards, while contributing to the development of new technical policies, procedures, and best practices. /li liEffective communicator and influencer, with the ability to collaborate across multiple disciplines and provide expert technical advice to site teams, customers, vendors, and senior leadership on complex operational and strategic matters. /li liStrong stakeholder management skills, with experience building productive relationships across engineering, operations, project delivery, procurement,



and customer‑facing functions. /li liMeticulous in documentation; review MOPs, risk assessments, and technical records. /li liClear communicator; able to adapt style and use persuasion when delivering technical messages to diverse audiences. /li liFluency in local language and English required. /li /ul h3Experience Education /h3 ul liMinimum of 8 years’ experience in data centre operations, critical facilities management, or electrical engineering, with significant expertise in mission‑critical power systems. A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline is preferred; equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered. /li liMandatory LV/HV Authorised Person (Authorised to Switch) certification in accordance with applicable local regulations and industry standards. /li liFormal electrical engineering education and training, with a strong focus on power generation, distribution, protection, and control systems within critical environments. /li liProven ability to exercise independent technical judgement in the planning and execution of high‑risk maintenance activities, system switching operations, incident response, and emergency management situations. /li liValid local occupational health and safety certification required. OSHA 30 certification is preferred and must be obtained within a defined period following hire if not already held. /li liWorking knowledge of local utility infrastructure, grid operations, and regulatory requirements is highly desirable. /li liDemonstrated experience operating within mission‑critical environments where system availability, operational resilience, and risk management are paramount. /li /ul pThe starting salary will be no less than €43,601.88 gross per year and the final offer will be fine‑tuned based on gender‑neutral criteria of candidates, including but not limited to competencies, responsibilities, effort and work conditions. /p pEdgeConneX believes inclusion – of thought, backgrounds and experiences – affects all that we do, from our employees to the solutions we deliver.
