Your mission
We are looking for an experienced Operational Controller with a strong focus on Operational Excellence to support our Chief Operations Officer (COO) and global operations organization. Based in Mezzago, Italy, this role has global responsibility across multiple production sites and operational units. You will act as a performance partner for the COO, identifying inefficient, slow or error-prone processes, highlighting cost drivers, and driving transparency and continuous improvement across the entire operations network.
Key Responsibilities:
Performance Partnering & Operational Transparency
- Act as a global sparring partner for the COO and plant/operations leaders on performance, efficiency, cost and improvement topics
- Drive transparency and standardization of operational KPIs, reporting and controlling processes across all sites
- Prepare clear management reports and presentations for the executive team
Operational Performance Management & Improvement
- Identify slow, inefficient or error-prone processes across sites and actively propose improvement measures
- Analyze, harmonize and continuously improve operational KPIs globally (productivity, throughput, scrap, rework, lead time, utilization)
- Highlight cost drivers, operational risks and improvement potential across the global production network
Continuous Improvement & Operational Controlling
- Support and challenge plant managers with data-driven insights and clear recommendations
- Support global continuous improvement and Lean initiatives
- Monitor production performance, margins, operational variances, and inventory levels; analyze and explain root causes at group level
- Support global budgeting, forecasting and long-term operational planning
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with production, procurement, logistics, quality, engineering and group controlling teams worldwide to drive alignment and performance improvement.
Your profile
- Degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, Controlling or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in operational controlling, operational excellence or performance management in an international manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of production processes and operational KPIs across different sites
- Proven ability to identify inefficiencies and translate data into concrete improvement actions
- Strategic mindset combined with a hands-on, pragmatic approach
- Excellent analytical skills and strong business orientation
- Very good Excel and ERP knowledge (MS Dynamics is a plus)
- Fluent English is mandatory; German is an advantage
- Willingness to travel internationally
- Strong communication skills and confidence in working with senior management
